37 Vintage Photos from Secret Government Schemes
The government and military are always up to some sketchy scandals out in the desert. That’s been known for years, but often shrouded in secrecy. Luckily, since the government is extremely organized while designing new ways to murder people, they always take pictures. The best ones are from way back when the 1950s, '60s, and '70s – because it really seems like they had no idea what they were doing. It’s strange, unsettling, and occasionally hilarious.
Many of these are from photographers and authors Larry Sultan and Mike Mandel, compiled in their book, “Evidence.” They got some wild snapshots of men in suits wearing plastic bags then setting them on fire, detonating experimental bombs, and doing… totally unexplainable stuff.
We’ve also found some harrowing images of people testing out mustard gas, building synthetic skeletons, and riding in genuine flying saucers the military built during the Cold War. Finally, the sinister mysteries we all knew were out there are on film for us to freak out about.
